Remix 2nd track - Stems for Perverse are up.
Remixers/DJs only. Parts for the next song from "Duchess 33" are posted.

"Perverse" WILL be the first single in just a couple of months.

Even rougher than "I Wish", I did the vox for this song DIRTY. I wanted feel... and I knew I'd mix 'em distorted and lo-fi, so the quality is not "top notch studio". Still, I provided untouched, totally raw WAVE files in addition to the effected ones, so presumably you could multiband-compress, EQ and effect 'em however you like to put 'em in a cleaner-sounding place. Also, 'cause Syrian (one of the booked-and-official remixers) requested it, there is a MIDI file with the chords and a couple of other parts included. (Turns out I didn't use much MIDI for this song. Who knew?)

130 bpm. 16 bit WAVE files. All parts start at a bar line.

Snagged it. I know I said I'd do something, and I did get started on an "I Wish" remix (on the Macbook, aren't you proud?), but I've been swamped. I've got a busy week ahead, but I think it's going to clear out for two weeks after that, so I'll try to get something more solid together and see if I can shoot you something finished. Wee!

Don't sweat it too much 'cause it ain't no thang. I have a solid slate of remixers for this first single, so I'm not hurtin' for material or anything. I'm just posting them 'cause a couple of people have said had they have fun with 'em. I'll be posting several more yet.

the bpm, raw files, vocodes and fx, AND a midi... its like a dream come true. i'll play around with it tomorrow and see what i can come up with.

by the way, i saw your album for download 2 days after its release on a certain unnamed private but infamous tracker...

Cool. Hope you have fun with the parts. :-)

So, two days after release, somebody had uploaded my whole album to a P2P kind of site? Is that what you're saying? I might be completely missing your point, but I guess I don't know of any private but infamous trackers?

Those are cool! I like just playing the individual files over each other and playing around with the timing. Like 3 or 4 wav files open on the desktop and just play with the timing. Like the Playskool version of remixing.

I'm a dork.

Don't forget to let me know if I can help out when the time comes!!

I definitely won't forget. For this first single, some old friends are doing remixes, and that won't cost much so I'll be covered. I haven't heard back yet from my friend Ed about some more high-level DJ remixes, but that's cool. I think it'll work well to do the second single more DJ-focused with those kinds of remixes.

Mark,

I think there are a couple of missing stems that could really add something to a remix: Wet and Dry versions of "VoxVocoder" without the vocoder. The lyrics and delivery of it are great. With those stems, a mixer could re-balance or eliminate the vocoder, perhaps even make that vocal more central to the song. It could really bring something different to a mix.

Thanks for posting these. I appreciate being able to check them out and will learn from them if I ever dedicate the time for composing/remixing.

You're right. A remixer COULD use those stems... but I don't want 'em to. Thought about it... then decided the part needed to be vocoded as such or it just didn't work.

I know. Slightly close-minded of me. But hey, I already give more parts than most any other artist (and MIDI files). I think the remixers will manage. :-)
